Welcome to Flavor First Desserts! I have always had a special knack for baking great-tasting desserts and I hope to share my skills with as many people as I can! While I have much respect for those that can bake fun decorative cakes, my priority is on making food where the flavor comes through in each bite.
A couple of years ago, after giving birth to my 4th child, I went through a mental health crisis that I have not fully recovered from. It involved severe depression, unexpected panic attacks, and ongoing feelings of hopelessness. Through all of this, I found that baking great-tasting food for others to enjoy was one of the few activities that really lifted my spirits! So my husband and I decided to start Flavor First Desserts, a small family-owned business whose top priority is making cakes with high-quality ingredients that provide a tasting experience that isn't offered in the area.
I make all of the cakes myself and some of them take upwards of three hours to complete! I have found that by approaching the cakes with an eye towards detail and flavor, that the end result is a dessert that is rare and unforgettable. You truly will agree that these cakes are Flavor First Desserts!
